Ground Floor Refurbishment

Interior Design: Concept Package, Drawing Package, Project Co-ordination

My client wanted to open up and modernise the ground floor of her family home, and now that her children had flown the nest, she wanted to do something for herself. We set to work on a simple and contemporary colour scheme that with an open plan living space would enhance the light in what had been a dark and enclosed space. After a full consultation and drawings presented, she opted for a neutral scheme that would create a flow through the whole ground floor. To create the open plan space, we needed to take the wall out between the dining and living room, ceilings needed to be plastered, two new archways created, and new doors fitted as well as a complete kitchen refurbishment.

We sourced the kitchen through a trade only supplier to keep costs down, and the fitting along with all building work was undertaken by my building specialist along with his team of plumber; electrician; tiler, and plasterer. New floors were fitted throughout by my flooring specialist and my painting and decorating specialist took care of the decoration and extended the work to the landing walls and doors to finish the flow from the ground floor to the first floor. With the works completed my client then was able to pick the furniture that she wanted to keep as well as invest in a grand dining table to be able to entertain friends and family in her new bright, contemporary, open space.
